Just some quick photos

We just drove around this morning and took a few quick photos.  Nothing exciting....just daily action shots.

Looks like they're starting the siding on the pro shop.

Carrying in heavy wall board into the ballroom.  The inside should start to look different soon.

Saw this CUTE little backhoe at work near the bistro.  Looks like a toy but should definitely be useful in tight places.

The water main break has been repaired.  Now just waiting for asphalt repair.
More unexpected unanticipated expenses.

MOUSE TAILS:

Have to smile when you see this face peeking around the corner as I slowly awake to the day.

I have this lovely adobe house and hand crafted pottery pieces purchased at our craft fair a few years back.  Guess I'm going to have to find some place UP HIGH to keep it on display though as pieces keep appearing in unexpected places.  Wonder why???

Caught in the act!

On our rounds

Another beautiful day for a ride around the park.
The stop sign by the shuffleboard courts has been replaced with caution signs for pedestrians.

Hank Olsen was out cleaning up the tennis court area.  Thank you, Hank!

All kinds of scaffolding at the pro shop.  Must be getting ready for the siding to go up.

Sooooooo much digging still happening out at the north 40.

Golf course is being fertilized and prepped for another busy season.

This hummingbird feeder was so colorful.  Had to take a photo to share.

A Typical Day

Another gorgeous morning in the mid 60s making it ideal for that morning cup of coffee out on the patio.  What a treat!!

Later we hopped in the cart for a typical trip around the park to see what's happening.  There's a few more trees to trim on the golf course before the front nine gets reseeded.

Glass is being installed in the windows of the pro shop.

They're digging and digging and digging out in the north 40.  New mounds of dirt appear daily as they dig trenches for the next kind of pipe.

I sent Don out for some closer pictures.

The mailroom is about done so the staff will be moving back into their new quarters.  They did a great job or handling the transition while the remodeling was being done.

I think MaryAnn will be glad to have the Activities office back again.......or she'll miss having their friendly company.

Don took Maverick out for a spin yesterday.  Just a quick tour around the resort.  The video looks a tad faded out as he didn't use the sun filter but you might enjoy it anyway.

We'll take some snapshots from this video showing the empty RV sites and brown scalped grass and then send it up again in February when everything is full and green.  Should make good side by side comparison!

MOUSE TAILS:

Mouse is gaining a fan club among our residents.  A couple stopped over yesterday (Brad and Deb) just to introduce themselves and let us know how much they enjoyed the blog and the stories about Mouse.

We're still laughing over the totally unused $30 luxurious bed we bought for Mouse as he strongly prefers the hard floor and this old Sam's Club box.

Be Patient!

If you've been following the blog this summer, you've seen how hard everyone is working to complete the multi-million dollar expansion of facilities here.  As dedicated as the crews are, I'm "thinking" they can't possibly have it all ready for regular use by the time our residents return.  I certainly hope everyone will be a tad understanding of the magnitude of the project and be patient while finishing touches get completed.

I donned my hard hat today (selfie portrait didn't turn out well....sorry) and toured the inside of the massive ballroom.

Lots of work to be done with electrical lines and duct work in the ceiling.

This is toward the front of the entrance where bathrooms will be located.

Entry and foyer.

Lots of electrical cable running throughout the building.

I believe MaryAnn will have to move some activities from the ballroom to the SanTan area.  The Activities Dept. will keep us updated as work continues.

We spotted Paul Ragains by the horseshoe courts this morning so stopped to see what he was up to.

Paul is replacing the top boards on all the horseshoe pits.

That sounded easier than it turned out to be.  This photo shows how the bottom cushions have filled with sand over time.  This all has to be cleaned out before Paul can replace the top boards.  I asked Paul how he got "roped" into doing the job and his reply was very impressive.  He said he and his wife, Cher, really enjoy living here and they want to give back to the community.

Pro Shop crew is focusing on the roof today.

We stopped for quite a while this morning as a big covey of quail was crossing the road.

They are so cute to watch as their little legs scramble in a flurry.

We see the big hole in the street is repaired in the aftermath of the water main break.  Now we need a good rain to wash the streets.  Good luck with that.

New fertilizer for the golf course arrives by the truck load.

Our landscape crews are reseeding the course.

Must always add a few pounds of seed for the hungry doves.

They must really look forward to this time of year.

New arrivals checking in at the front desk.

And now for our reader's favorite part of the blog:
"Mouse Tails"

You must realize how hard we are working to "train" our cat NOT to get up on the kitchen table or counters.  This is TRULY a challenge now that he is old enough to jump.  We have an ample supply of water spray bottles which is the best deterrent but they don't seem to work too well....or Mouse has a short memory span.

Now he thinks if he jumps straight into the sink that its legitimate as he's not ON the counter.

The lure of the hummingbird that sits right outside the kitchen window is a true magnet for him as are my little Mexican decorative turtles on the windowsill.  Somehow, these little turtles wind up anywhere in the kitchen except where they belong.

I should write a thank you letter to Sam's Club for sending this particular box home from our last shopping trip.

It appears to be the perfect hiding place.

Have a GREAT day.................and thank you everyone for the fun comments you send us regarding the blog.  We love hearing from you.......right Mouse??
