More Music, Poker Winner, + Mouse

Our strange winter weather now seems to be cooperating so we can spend more quality time outdoors.  Our neighbors (Cheryl and Heidi) had another successful FUN block party with Dusty as DJ.  Watch our senior citizens having fun!!

Congratulations to Terri Wellman (Activities Supervisor) and anyone else that helped secure our entertainment this season.  What a long list of GREAT entertainment.  Last night was awesome!  All our favorite tunes from days gone by via "Down on the Corner" providing a tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival.  Such FUN.  The audience was rocking and singing along.

Another big event last night was the "Tournament of Champions" for the poker group.  Congratulations to the grand winner,
Becki Andrews!!

Second place:  Lee Seabolt
Third place:  Elaine Moore

Other EXCITING news....especially for us year-rounders who stay during summer.  Looks like our Bistro may be open at times this year.  Yahoo!!

That's Country, a Pretty Day

Usually, I save the cat pictures for last but today they were posing just for you readers.  Mouse loves a paper bag or box.

Kat is just a laid back pussy cat.

Rick Kilback from British Columbia was the grand winner at Monday night bingo.  He went home with an $859 jackpot!!  Next Monday, March 29 will be the last bingo game for this season.

Yesterday's weather was just GRAND!!  Beautiful sky.  The park really looks nice.

Have you noticed how the flowers are flourishing!

Stop to enjoy.

Sunday night was The Outlaw Show called That's Country.  If you like country music, don't miss this event next year.  Little Kathy King is a top notch fiddle player and she has won the hearts of all of us.

We love watching Kathy and Shane.

Internet Meetings

 DISH TV TOWN HALL MEETING

There were at least four top level Dish representatives at the community meetings on Thursday along with our GM, Dennis Jordan.  They addressed a number of issues.

In years past, the biggest problem was the fact that we only had 1 G of service to the park.  During season, there was a big drain on the service as the bandwidth just wasn't big enough.  Then came the HUGE project of bringing fiber optic cable to PC.  They trenched and dug up all along McMurry and beyond to bring in that cable at a huge expense.  Now we have a 5G connection.  The Dish tech said even at our current full occupancy, we are only using 1/2 of that 5G so there is plenty of room for growth.

The internet and cable connections go to 2341 sites at Palm Creek with RVs that come and go, connecting to the pedestals at their sites.  If there is "noise" on a line, the Dish techs will try to analyze the problem.  If your site is having problems, ask that a tech come to investigate.

Dish technicians are here in the park on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  If Dish receives notice of 3 or more units being OUT, they will send an on-call technician that same day.  If service is out, we should call Dish Fiber customer support at 866-794-6166.

There was a recent long outage in a section of the park where a necessary part needed to be replaced and Dish had a hard time getting delivery.  They said they are now gearing up by having additional crucial parts like this on hand to avoid any kind of long delay like that again.

There was also discussion regarding the newest modems/routers to assure the best service.  A flyer was distributed showing the best kind.

If an outage occurs, it is important that we as users notify Dish support so they are aware of the problem.  866-794-6166

It was interesting to hear of the many kinds of problems that can occur when servicing over 2000 locations within our park.

******
On a lighter note:  I think I'll complain to the folks at Meow Mix that they should make their packaging a little stronger to avoid problems like this in my cupboard.  Surely it is their problem, right?

Another ray of sunshine!  Jim and Kathleen Koch had a yearly visit with their grandkids.  They're all grown up now but we do so enjoy seeing the message they leave behind each year.

Mike Bailey has done a GREAT job of making a video to honor the quilt show.  It especially shows the tremendous amount of set up work to prepare for the exhibit.  Congratulations to ALL who participated.

Chorus Spring Concert

The Palm Creek Chorus presented their spring concert last night.  It was great!!  You can still get a ticket over in Activities to see their final presentation on Friday night.  They've obviously practiced and worked very hard to make such an entertaining event.  Congratulations to one and all.

Even my Kat got in the show during the CUTE animated song called "I Bought Me A Cat".
There were so many beautiful photos shown on two big screens during the show....I believe all were donated by our residents.

These participants may not have been singing but they were certainly working hard!

I enjoyed the colorful shirts and the automation of the singers.  They were in the groove.  😄

As a finale, a check was presented to the Against Abuse organization with funds raised by ticket sales to the Christmas concert, singing Valentines promotions, and tonight's spring concert.  $2,500.

Three cheers for an awesome group of "potters" that put together a great show this year!

We haven't had a pottery event in the past year or two so the crew had built up a huge inventory for this sale!  Awesome work.

It certainly drew a crowd!

There were even a couple demos available.
