DISH TV TOWN HALL MEETING
There were at least four top level Dish representatives at the community meetings on Thursday along with our GM, Dennis Jordan. They addressed a number of issues.
In years past, the biggest problem was the fact that we only had 1 G of service to the park. During season, there was a big drain on the service as the bandwidth just wasn't big enough. Then came the HUGE project of bringing fiber optic cable to PC. They trenched and dug up all along McMurry and beyond to bring in that cable at a huge expense. Now we have a 5G connection. The Dish tech said even at our current full occupancy, we are only using 1/2 of that 5G so there is plenty of room for growth.
The internet and cable connections go to 2341 sites at Palm Creek with RVs that come and go, connecting to the pedestals at their sites. If there is "noise" on a line, the Dish techs will try to analyze the problem. If your site is having problems, ask that a tech come to investigate.
Dish technicians are here in the park on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. If Dish receives notice of 3 or more units being OUT, they will send an on-call technician that same day. If service is out, we should call Dish Fiber customer support at 866-794-6166.
There was a recent long outage in a section of the park where a necessary part needed to be replaced and Dish had a hard time getting delivery. They said they are now gearing up by having additional crucial parts like this on hand to avoid any kind of long delay like that again.
There was also discussion regarding the newest modems/routers to assure the best service. A flyer was distributed showing the best kind.
If an outage occurs, it is important that we as users notify Dish support so they are aware of the problem. 866-794-6166
It was interesting to hear of the many kinds of problems that can occur when servicing over 2000 locations within our park.

On a lighter note: I think I'll complain to the folks at Meow Mix that they should make their packaging a little stronger to avoid problems like this in my cupboard. Surely it is their problem, right?
Another ray of sunshine! Jim and Kathleen Koch had a yearly visit with their grandkids. They're all grown up now but we do so enjoy seeing the message they leave behind each year.
