Unfortunately, this time our weatherman was not exaggerating. We truly did hit 118 yesterday.

We gave it a try. The deck thermometer read 119 in the shade and the thermometer laid on the patio bricks said 142. As you can see it didn't quite make it to restaurant quality, but the yolk did firm up! It cooked a little more after I took this pic, but not enough to make it to the Fathers Day dinner table. When it gets this hot, it doesn't cool down much at night. It was still 101 when I went to bed at 10:00pm.
All the thermostats registered at 90 when we entered houses this morning. We were up at the crack of dawn to do our outside rounds.
