Loving Hearts, Loving Meals

In addition to the mega hundreds of pickleball participants and enthusiasts here for the National tournament,  Palm Creek also hosted the first craft fair of the season here today.  Hats off to our rangers and staff who were directing traffic and finding parking places for everyone!

I sent Don home to replenish my wallet so I'm sure vendors were happy to see me there.  I won $50+ at the Monday night bingo game and it was burning a hole in my pocket.  (Yes.....my winning card had G55 on it!)

My favorite booth at the fair is always the Loving Hearts booth where they sell all the fabulous baked goods.  Can't give these folks enough credit for all the work they do to support their organization.

What is "Loving Hearts?"

This program began in 2014 to help cancer patients maintain their strength and nutrition while taking their treatments.  Every day they delivery home made meals to chemo and radiation patients at the Cancer Treatment Services Arizona facility across the street on Sabin Drive.  The program is maintained through private donations, fundraisers and selling their baked goods at the monthly Palm Creek craft fairs.  Since 2014, they have prepared over 2,000 meals and soups.  They also give the patients a treat each week with home baked cookies and other fun snacks.  Since 2014, they have provided over 14,000 cookies and treats to the patients.

Check out the support page on Facebook:  Cancer Support Center
Their next big event is called "Booby Bingo" to be held on Wednesday, November 16 in the Robson ballroom.  A bunch of us "creekers" plan to attend.  Come join us and support a great cause.

If you see this "worker bee" painting the stop sign at the end of your street, give him a friendly wave and say hello.  Kevin Root is helping to beautify our stop signs throughout the resort.

Looks nice!

HOMESICK SNOWBIRD

At The Villages in Florida there was a bumper sticker on a parked car that read:
"I miss Chicago."

Someone broke the window, stole the radio, shot out all four of the tires, added an Obama bumper  stickerand left a note that read:

"Hope this helps"
