Good Morning, Readers--
Our cool morning temps are getting shorter as it’s starting to heat up for the month of June. We have to get up earlier and earlier so we can enjoy the outdoors while it’s cool. Of course, it is daylight by 5:00 a.m. I just can’t wrap my head around getting up that early, but we adjust. The weatherman says we’ll hit 106 today. That’s okay though-- I’d rather have our 106 with our 4% humidity instead of the 95 with 80% humidity that they’re suffering in the southeast right now.
It has been pretty quiet this past week so I don’t have a lot to report. We met up with a couple of the Palm Creek employees while we were out on rounds Friday and asked them to keep us informed if there were new projects coming up.
Eddie has been busy fixing up some of the stop signs around the park. Sign posts need painting and the stop sign it self gets a dose of polish before remounting it. This is a prime example of the type of maintenance that we never stop to think about but definitely helps to keep our park beautiful.
Clint and his crew are working hard on that irrigation system plus keeping up with all the mowing and trimming around the course. Our summer residents still manage some rounds of golf in the early mornings…………and it’s FREE after May 1 when the golf shop closes.
We see other landscaping crews at work under the hot sun every day. Arizona weeds seem to grow just fine even without any rain or water. The only way to keep them under control around all the park models is often times a shovel and some hard work.
I just noticed another hard working (??) member of the Palm Creek staff. Don tells me this little guy has been around for a long time but I just never noticed him. It’s time to give him a little credit for “hanging on” so long. Looks like he’s a little worse for wear. See him mounted on the mirror frame of the garbage truck?? He sees all.
