Normally the Heplers take the weekend off and love to sleep in past the 5:15 daily alarm. Don was eager to get "Maverick" out for some exercise though. Here's a great video of the ballroom.....including inside! Maverick doesn't need safety shoes or a hard hat.
Next visit was out to the north 40 for a quick view. Still not much to see because all the work is underground.

It is a relatively cool 80 degrees this morning so I opened the window for Mouse to get a better view of the hummingbirds at the feeder. At least that keeps him off my keyboard for a while.
From Gary Lambert, Operations Manager at Palm Creek: We will be shutting down the residential phone service late next week (end of the month). I am waiting to hear form our contractor to get firm details. Once I get specifics, I will also plan to send out a mailbox stuffer to catch the folks who don’t read the blogs.

Phoenix endured another bout of heavy rain last night but all we got was some wind and more dust. We're ready for rain but it just seems to go around us. The radar looked promising but.....alas....all the rain went around us again.
It did give us another awesome sunset though!
Say hello to another new member of our staff. This is Rafael Montalvo, our new Facilities Technician. This morning his assignment was to install new LED lighting to the laundromats and restrooms. He is also a drone enthusiast so watched a while as Don sent "Maverick" over the ballroom.
We spent lots of time at the ballroom this morning as there is sooooo much "stuff" happening now. The structure is going up fast as the trusses are installed overhead.

This is a good picture of how many have already been added and how close together they're installed.
It's fascinating to watch how fast they can pick up a truss and swing it around in place. Here's the video from "Maverick" flying high above.

That's all for construction pictures today. Mouse got bored so is in the other room pestering Don at the moment. I did get a photo of the little devil at work last night. I left my milk glass on the end table while I cleared my dishes from the TV tray. Needless to say, the glass was VERY empty when I returned.
LOTS of stuff happening today! The other steel beam is already in place.
Wish I could have watched them lift it into place.
Truckloads of supplies keep arriving.
Starting over again at the ProShop. Don't ask.
The BIGGEST news is the sewing room has now found its new home! It was fascinating to watch as it was all moved by a robot!! (sort of a robot anyway)
Everyone came out to watch the action.

It is all controlled with a remote.
It's the perfect tool for this close quarters job as there was no room for a big truck.
Job well done. Now just walk back to base.
This fancy truck is how the "robot" is transported. I would have enjoyed a conversation with the owner. He obviously enjoys machinery!
All three units were moved within an hour. Fast service!

The never ending task of weed control goes on daily. This contractor has trucks and crew in here daily spraying our gravel to keep the weeds from sprouting up. They even walk between all the sites with a spray tank on their back.
Our housekeeping staff works hard all summer too helping to keep the resort looking nice. Here's Dora at work outside the sales office.

Mouse likes to play inside this case of coke. He crawls under the plastic and likes to hide in there.
A few minutes ago, I heard this weird hissing sound and Mouse fled across the room.
The little devil actually bit into a can and caused it to spray out. Don't underestimate the power of a kitten's sharp little teeth.
