Sewing Room is moved

After disassembling all the electrical, plumbing, etc., the crews closed off each section with plastic to protect the inside during the move to its new location.

Then each piece was hooked up to the truck and moved over across the street where it will remain until it's new home is prepared.

The procedure seemed to go very smoothly without any incidents.

Now that lot is open and ready to go for the ballroom addition.

Sections will temporarily rest here.

We see this new sign posted at the main entrance.  It might be interesting to attend this public hearing and see what else we can learn about our expansion plans.

Phase 3 Information

Obviously, we are always curious about what’s going on at Palm Creek.  Since we were very impressed with the planned revisions scheduled to be carried out this summer, we decided to investigate further.

This picture shows the proposed project.

You'll notice there are yellow, blue, and green stars on some of the lots.  These are considered the prime lots and therefore have a one-time lot fee.

Yellow Stars = $5000
Blue Stars = $10,000
Green Stars =$15000

The red stars denote temporary RV sites.

Some of these lots are huge, some have great views of the Greenbelt, and some are close to doggie parks.  Our new Cavco/Champion Village Homes will fit there comfortably and some of the lots are large enough that there will be space to add a garage if you so desire.

Home sizes available range from the cottage homes with about 670 ft.² up to the gorgeous Village homes that go up to 1300 ft.².

In the upper right-hand corner labeled ”A" there will be a swimming pool, a couple of pavilions and a parking area.  In the upper center labeled "B" is a pavilion and a dog park.  Halfway down the page on the right, also labeled “B” is another pavilion and dog park.

There are a lot of different lot choices depending on what you want.  If you see one you like, you will want to see Nancy in sales right away because she already has deposits on three of them.

As for the rent, we did a little research and discovered that apartments in Casa Grande go for about $700 to $1300 a month.  There might be some for a little less than that but they’re probably not anyplace we would like to live.  The monthly cost in Palm Creek ranges from $561 a month to $741 a month.  In addition, the annual lot rent includes water and cable which means you will only be responsible for utilities. Trash and sewer are an additional $30 a month but this is only charged for the months you are actually here.

We're  anxious for construction to begin so we can show you on the blog what progress is being made.

RC Flyers Information

I received a copy of the article that appeared in the Casa Grande RC Flyers club this week regarding the renovations to their airfield.  Our Palm Creek RC Flyers will have a great place to continue their hobby.

Fellow Members:
I wanted to thank the flying club at Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort for donating three of their tables and four of their pilot stations to our club. Their field is closing on May 1, 2017 and we are hoping most of their members will join us at our field.
I also want to thank two of our members, Jerry Linderman and Ron St Pierre. Jerry paid for the truck rental and helped move the tables to our field and Ron and his family also provided the labor to facilitate the move. Without their kindness, and the generosity of the Palm Creek flyers, this would not have been possible.

Lastly I want to thank Jerry McDonald, Ken Hillery and Nancy Friedman for coming to our field work day this morning.  They were joined by Eric Schroder and the Maricopa 4 H Club members who worked tirelessly this morning to resurface, anchor and stain the work tables, install the pilot stations and move and anchor the starting table.  They also walked the runway to remove all the larger stones and the trash around the airfield and swept the lose gravel off the runway.  Without all of their help we, could not have competed these projects.  Also I want to thank Home Depot, who was kind enough to donate most of the material we needed.  If not for their donations and the labor of the individuals named above, we would have had to spend almost $1,000.00 from our club treasury to do what was done this morning.   Photos are below:
Sincerely,
Alan Friedman, President Casa Grande RC Flyers
AMA District 10 Associate Vice President

I'm sure this aerial photo was taken by one of their drones.

Sewing Room

There's much preparation to get the sewing room ready for its move.

You can't see much of them, but there are workers under the building disconnecting "things".

Tires have arrived.

Building now split apart.

Thought I'd snap a quick picture of those pretty snapdragons at the front flower beds because I'm sure they won't be there much longer.  As soon as the warm weather hits, the water will be shut off and flowers removed for the summer.  It's always sad to see them go.

Map of New Section

These new maps and diagrams are available in the sales office.  It shows more detail of what the new housing section will be.  Nancy Paupst says she already has THREE down payments on lots in the area because people are hurrying to get the larger lots.

This diagram shows the lot numbers in detail so you'll have to zoom in to read the small print.  The red dots indicate the lots already spoken for.

The colored diagram below shows more of what the "green belt" will look like that runs through the area.

We met these gents from APS digging huge holes over on Cactus Drive and Palo Verde.  We stopped to chat and asked if they were digging for gold but their reply wasn't near that exciting.  They're running a new electric line over to the light pole on the corner.

Again, I made Don stop for a quick photo of a cactus in bloom.  Mother Nature amazes me with tall green stalks of cactus and then suddenly out of nowhere she sends brilliant tiny blooms and flowers.

Such delicate intricate blossoms among the thorns.

Morning Bike Ride

First stop on our bike ride this morning was over at the sewing room again.  So many of our quilters and sewers are watching closely to check on progress.

Lots of electrical work to take care of.

While we were out, we rode past the pickleball courts.  Yup.  They're still all busy even though so many folks have already left.

What a beautiful morning for golf.  Where is everybody??

Welcome to April

April and October seem to be our favorite months of the year when it comes to Arizona weather.  I feel sad for some of our residents that have to leave now and head back home where the weather isn't as welcoming.  Shirley Beck just texted me this photo as they head north to Canada.  She offered to package up some of that white stuff and ship it to me but I politely declined.

April 5 and the crews are busy at work dismantling the sewing room and getting it ready to move to its new location.  I see John Blount and his crew assisting the air conditioning and the electricians.

I went for a bike ride this morning just to enjoy the beautiful weather, clear sky, and 75 degree temperature.  Had to stop and take some pictures of the many cactus blossoms.  Back home you'll see daffodils and lilacs but we have cactus blooms galore.

The bees are busy as can be.

Every now and then we come across another plant that surprises us.  Somewhere someone might know the name of this plant but I certainly don't.  Very unusual.

This is the week of the Good Sam rally here.  Our rangers have been busy directing the 75-85 rigs that will be attending from April 5-9.  The Good Sam folks have invited all Palm Creek residents to join in on their rally by attending seminars, events, and entertainment.  Very nice!
