Taking down the ballroom wall

Inside......the stage and bathroom walls are gone.

Outside they're still digging out soil to level for the floor.

It's fascinating to watch how they attack the outside wall of the ballroom.  One guy carefully chisels through the stucco creating an access point.

Then they quite carefully peel off the outside layer of  the building.

Don checks with Art McCoy for any updates.

Another water tank has been installed at the south entrance to the back 40.  It's still too soon for more aerial video.  When we can distinctly see roads being formed, we'll send our little bird up for a "look see".  Right now it looks like they're still leveling mounds of soil.

Ballroom Info + North 40

Demolition definitely continues inside the ballroom.

Walls are coming down.

Outside another contractor is prepping the old parking lot which will become the expanded ballroom.

Don met with Casper to get the scoop on what's happening.

The whole parking lot will become the floor of the expanded ballroom.  It first must be leveled to the proper depth.

There were quite a few big tonka trucks at work at the north 40 when we stopped by.

It's fascinating to watch the dirt mover in action.

We sent the drone up to get a better picture.  It looks like they're leveling the area and perhaps marking where the roads will go.  We'll wait another day before posting video.  Stay tuned.

Leveling the North 40 & Demo of the Ballroom

Crews are leveling the north 40 this morning and the water trucks are busy spraying to keep down the dust.  I was excited to see a woman driver among them.  Three cheers for her!

We sent the drone up for a bird's eye view.  That little machine is just awesome.

A demolition team is here to disassemble the ballroom.  Lots of electrical, plumbing, and AC equipment to disconnect.

Because of the digging by the new pro shop, some temporary sprinklers have to be set up to cover the grass around that area.

Jackhammers are busy inside the bistro area taking down remaining wall.

I'll stop bragging about our wonderful weather now.  It was still pleasant at 5:00 early this morning but it is now 9:00  and my thermometer already reads 100.  Summer is upon us.

*****************************

Three boys are in the schoolyard bragging about their fathers. The first boy says, 'My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a poem, they give him $50.'
The second boy says, 'That's nothing. My Dad scribbles a few words on piece of paper, he calls it a song, they give him $100.'
The third boy says, 'I got you both beat. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a sermon, and it takes eight people to collect all the money!'

Construction Update

Palm Tree Debris
Crews are still working at trimming our 2000+ palm trees.  Since all the debris must now be hauled to the city landfill, they have wisely chosen to let a few days of branches sit idle in the parking lot by the maintenance station.  A few days in our Arizona sunshine will dry them out so we won't be charged for burying so much heavy water.  As the branches dry out, they lose water weight.  We pay by the pound for disposal at the landfill.

BISTRO WALL

Fernando was on the back hoe again to knock out the wall of the bistro patio to get ready for the expansion.  Tough wall!!  It was built to endure.

Paparazzi at work.

BALLROOM

We found Juan in the ballroom.  He says they're going to start to cut out the ceiling.  I don't know what that means exactly but we'll go back later to see what's happening.

About an hour later, we came past the Bistro area again.  Faustino had just dug up a ball of tree roots.

Most of the wall is down.  The rest has to be sawed through.

NORTH 40

All debris has been cleared from the north 40 and leveling has begun.

Just for Fun

Here's another practice video just for fun.  Took a tour over the tennis courts.

Wave hello to Mary and Tom Williams plus Doug and Ron.
