Piano Recital, Health Fair

Wow!  Sue Reineck tried to capture an amazing rainbow that appeared in the sky at sunrise this morning.  We didn't have any rain so all the moisture stayed up in the clouds.  Thank you, Sue.

 MARK YOUR CALENDAR!

Next Sunday evening, January 30, 7:00 in the Ballroom, a video production is going to be shown that you won't want to miss!

Betty Steele and her former piano student, who now appears professionally as a solo piano performer, teamed up last summer on two grand pianos for a concert.  Their concert was filmed and that production is going to be the Palm Creek kickoff for the Cancer Awareness Week.

This concert includes Sacred, Bach to Broadway, and lots of music in between.  You will know every number and they will have your toes a tappin'.

One other interesting fact is that Betty's student is blind and she learned braille in order to teach him when he was a young child.

Tickets for this 90 minute presentation are $5.00 available in the Activities Office and all proceeds are going to the Palm Creek Cancer Awareness fund raising.  So get your tickets in the Activities Office and don't miss next Sunday evening, 7:00 right here in the ballroom.

The Health Fair held in the Ballroom today was quite small but it was still interesting to chat with the vendors that were present.

My favorite, of course, was the CBD booth that Jim & Linda Rainer exhibit at most Palm Creek events.  I'm a firm believer in the CBD product they offer.....both the rub and the oral drops.  Even Scott at Dr. Ericson's office recommends the anti-inflammatory ingredient that is included in CBD oil.

Unfortunately Linda stepped away from the booth before I got a good photo.

Kara and Chuck Shaffer were present to talk about their CPR classes.

The gents from Heritage Funeral Home gave out a nice planning guide for funeral arrangements plus veteran information.  It's not a fun topic but it's valuable information.

These pretty young gals were great representatives for the hormone therapy and health services they offer at Revive Health and Wellness over on Cottonwood Lane.

A "hearing" company demonstrated a product called CaptionCall that displayed a phone conversation for hearing impaired people.  I commented that most of us didn't have a land line anymore but she then explained that this device can be hooked up for cell phone use as well.  Sounds like a great product.

On the way home from the health fair, I stopped to see all the action at the tennis courts.  Cottonwood tennis club came for some friendly competitive action so all the courts were busy and active.

The shuffleboard courts are busy as well.  They have a fun game that involves a bowling pin.  Get close to gain points but lose a bunch if you knock over the pin!

Watch Diane Reese in action.  Good shot!

***Reminder to sign up in Activities to be part of the balloon glow event.  They are still in need of volunteers to help with the balloons.

Want to meet folks and play some FUN cards?  Be in the Adobe Room on Mondays about 12:15 to play SWOOP!  Come alone or bring a friend.
