Yes, we're having another iPhone class this Saturday, March 23, at 9:30 in the SanTan Room. If you don't find us there, try the Sonora South room. Whatever your level of learning about your phone, you're bound to learn something new. We're requesting a $5 donation to support the blog email program.

I was a guest this morning at the Photo Club's Annual Photo Contest where the winners were announced.  Thank you to Jim Cornell for the invitation.

I was sitting at an angle so couldn't get good snapshots of the winners as they appeared on the big screen but I did get a couple samples.

I wish the photo club would open their photos to the public so we could see all their submissions.  Such great work with a camera!!

Menu + New Dining Place

 This week's Bistro menu.  

Don and I had "date night" scheduled so went to the new Boston's place to try the new Su Casa Grande restaurant.  It was nicely decorated and they certainly had a great crowd.  Lots of seating available.  They could easily push tables together to accommodate larger crowds in the back.

Our food was delicious and considering that neither of us are really fans of typical Mexican food, we were both VERY pleased with our meals.

They even have a place where they create their own corn tortillas.  It was fun to watch.

We weren't the only "Creekers" there either as we said Howdy to the Stone's.

Chorus Concert & Mail Room

I can't say enough praise for our Palm Creek Chorus.  Their show was so much FUN tonight!  I was seated in the front row so didn't get very good photos.  I use that as an excuse as I was enjoying the show so much that I didn't think about pulling out the camera.

I also don't want to say too much and spoil the surprises and fun for the Friday audience.

Take me out to the ballgame.

Selected audience members were invited to join in with kazoos!

Yup.  I got to join the chorus.  Don said we looked so serious....but it's hard to smile while you play a kazoo.  I personally think we were pretty good.  😂😉😖

There were other surprises as well.  This song was very touching!

Arlene Noteman signed through some patriotic music.

I am also VERY impressed with the pianist.  She played every song and never missed a note.  How much practice has she dedicated?

All the members were having fun throughout the performance.  I was thinking how nice it would be if their families back home....their children and grandkids could see them perform up on that stage.  They would be so impressed and proud.

I stopped by the mailroom this week to say hello to friend Donna Cox who is the mailroom manager. I was amazed to see the abundance of mail bags and packages that had just arrived and were being sorted for distribution. Wow!! Our mail crew deserves some applause.

Chorus Concert

 It's still not too late to get your ticket to attend the upcoming Chorus Concert being held Thursday and Friday, March 7& 8.  Show starts at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are only $10 and are available in the Activities office.

I attend every year and really enjoy the show.  They put in so much practice!!  I have a scoop from leader Betty Preston.

The show this year is titled "Oh! I Remember That" and will include some high-energy "rockin" numbers, several Beatles tunes, rock 'n roll as in "Rockin' Round the Clock", down-home gospel, Johnny Cash and lots more.  The audience will know every tune and we hope to hear lots of singing along.

The tradition has become that they recognize and donate to our Veterans. This year they will have a very special ceremony including military representatives as guests.  The chorus will be singing a new patriotic song that is very, very moving.

From a Sesame Street tune to Lee Greenwood to Earth, Wind & Fire, listeners will "cover lots of ground."  As an added treat this year there is a cookie reception after the show.  Betty guarantees you will leave with a smile and a song!

If you don't have time to get to Activities for a ticket, you can still purchase at the door.

There's no need to sign up.  Just come and join us.  We'll review some basics but there is so much new info to learn about that wonderous machine we carry in our pockets.

 What is the new icon on the front page of our blog??  It is over on the right side.

It says "Buy Me A Coffee".  I really miss the opportunity of sending all readers an email whenever I post.  The free service is now a paid service....just like many things in our lives these days.  This paid service is expensive!  Too expensive for me to justify unless I can raise the money via my blog.  I therefore ask for your donation of $5 or more through the "Coffee" app.  It seems quite easy to use.  One cup equals a $5 donation or you can increase to several cups at $5 each.  When (and IF) I receive enough funds, I will sign up for the Brevo email system so I can alert you each time I post.  Thank you!
