Bingo, Valentines, Quilts & Cats

Thank you to the Palm Creek Chorus for their annual singing valentine program!  It was so fun to send and receive their fun lyrics and tunes.

I wonder who writes the cute lyrics to their tunes?  Very creative and fun!

We have a good number of "working cats" at Palm Creek who help control the mice, roof rats, rabbits, and DOVES.  The cats can over populate, however, so some residents have started a program to spay/neuter the animals and still return them here to their home and let them get back to work at keeping us varmint free.

Reminder:  We're not supposed to feed the feral cats.

The Quilt Show and the Woodworking show are one of the highlights of the season.  Such beautiful hand-crafted projects!

Each show draws a large crowd every year.

BINGO:  Don't miss our Monday night bingo this week as the jackpot has certainly built up in size.  Ticket sales start at 6:00 and the game starts at 7:00.  Come early to get your cards ready for action.  We had 267 attendees last week so each game jackpot was $102.  Not bad for an evening of fun.  See you there!

Menu, Phones, Cats

It's a great day in the neighborhood as I already have a copy of this week's Bistro menu for you.  Why am I so diligent at trying to post this weekly menu??  It's because I LOVE OUR BISTRO and am so grateful to have the service and delicious offerings it provides.  Greg, Chef, and the whole crew are to be applauded.

Silly me didn't take any photos of our cellphone classes these past two Saturdays!  I could blame Don as he usually takes pictures for our blog as well.  (He's my behind-the-scenes caretaker.😉)  We'll get another chance in March.  Our next class:
Saturday, March 16, 9:30 SanTan Room
Saturday, March 23, 9:30 SanTan Room

Several folks reminded me that I haven't been posting photos of our "adorable" cats named Kat and Mouse.  Okay...here is an update to assure you that they are still very active.
Even our cats like to play computer games.

Sometimes they squabble over who gets the best view.

If I take a break, I come back to find the message that I've been at the computer too long and someone needs attention.

I received this beautiful FANTASTIC handcrafted quilt from Cathie Young.
(Thank you again Cathie)

Kat & Mouse love it too.

The cat tree beds are small but still comfy.

Giving Day Announcement

The Cancer Awareness fund raising week we had in the past has now changed to "Giving Day" where Palm Creek will raise funds for three worthy charities:  The Valley Humane Society, Seeds of Hope, and the Pinal County Veterans Group.

Our Activities staff has been busy with a totally new agenda of events.  😄

Little Ducks, Bistro Menu, iPhone Class

These little ducks are adorable and were hand crafted by the folks in Activities!

In keeping with our Tumbleweeds, Tombstones and Trouble ‘Giving Day’ slated for Feb 21st Activities is selling little cowboy/cowgirl ducks for charity! Pick up a duck for yourself or simply ‘duck’ a friend or neighbor. Our ducks are $5 each and proceeds will go to three local charities-Seeds of Hope, Valley Humane Society and Pinal County Veterans Memorial Foundation.

Three GREAT charities.  Glad to see Palm Creek is sponsoring them.

iPhone Class:

Our class on Saturday was FUN and according to feedback, participants were excited about the new features they learned about the space age machine they carry in their pocket.

I have answers for ALL the questions folks asked so be prepared for more new information this Saturday, February 10 at 9:30 in the Sonora South or maybe the SanTan room?  LOL.

No need to sign up for the class.  Just come and help us set up tables and chairs if we get a crowd.  We're asking for a $5 donation but it is not a requirement.
