Coyotes, Activities for Cancer Awareness, Surprises for the Cats

Received these coyote photos from Robert Wyss this morning.  He says he took these on the 15th hole yesterday (January 7).  Awesome photos!!  All the gated communities around here probably share the space with wildlife these days due to our parched dry desert.  What a paradise we offer these animals with the abundance of food and water and lush green grass.  We certainly won't miss a few ducks or feral cats.  The park will try to block the drainage vents under the wall........but these coyotes can easily jump over any of the walls that surround us.  I have friends in Sun City that tell stories about that on a regular basis.

They've obviously been eating well as they look nice and healthy.

Mouse is safe.  He's indoors playing with the newest box that arrived from Amazon.

We have a few more activities appearing on the daily calendar now that more people are arriving.  We still like to play.

Big announcement today regarding the annual Cancer Awareness Week.

All these fund raising activities sound like fun!  Congrats to Marion and her staff for the creative ideas.

This year, more than any other year, I will be participating and supporting the cancer awareness events.  I'm so grateful to our local Alliance Cancer Center for the wonderful service they perform right here in Casa Grande.  I can carry a sign that says "Survivor of 4 whole months already."
 (Seems like an eternity!)

Please participate.  Funds stay here in Casa Grande.

I have a fun cute story to tell this afternoon.  It started with an Amazon delivery we weren't expecting.

What is it??

Look.  It's in a neat wrapped package.  What could it be?

Kat came running over to help me open it.

No wonder he's so interested.  It is one of those crazy floppy fish toys for cats.  It just lays there till the cat touches it and then it flops around while they attack it.

Very popular.

It must smell good to them because they kept rubbing against it while we unpacked.

Don and I have both looked at the ads for this particular toy.  We laugh and say we've spent enough money on cat toys so never made the purchase.  Lo and behold....we received this as a surprise gift today from Brian and Patti Illston.  THANK YOU!!  Your gift made our day!!

Of course we'll have to pick up the fish and hide it at bedtime if we want to get a good night's sleep.  LOL
