Recommended Vendors

Don and I have resided inside Palm Creek for over five years so have had plenty of occasions to call on a number of vendors in the Casa Grande area that are approved by our resort.  Some of these businesses have done an outstanding job and come highly recommended by us and by fellow residents who have used their services in the past.  I want to list these special vendors here and give them credit for the wonderful and professional customer service they provide.

The outside of our home definitely needed fresh paint after baking in the Arizona sun for over five years and the interior was still the munane white as when we moved in.  Because I had heard of Cooper Painting when I worked at Print and Pack here in town and learned that the company has an excellent reputation, they were the first team I called for an estimate.  Paul Cooper and his daughter Jessica showed up promptly for their appointment and came with color charts in hand to help us choose our colors.  Neither Don nor I have any talent whatsoever with decorating projects so we found their help extremely valuable.  The written price quote we received via email the very same day was within our expectations so we put Cooper's ideas to the challenge and the game plan was set. 

Before starting, they spread a small amount of the chosen colors on the side of the house so we could see what we had chosen.  We made a small change with the trim color after seeing the true sample which was no problem for Paul.  Paul was also accompanied by Karen who was a representative from Sherwin Williams.  I was pleased to see her there and hear her recommendations for the type of paint that would hold up best under the summer rays. 

At exactly 7:30 am on the appointed day the painting team showed up fully equipped to start the job.  We met Kim and Pat who would be doing the actual work.  It certainly was impressive to see a professional team at work with all the equipment and materials at their disposal.  Day one was caulking all the nooks and crannies around the exterior PLUS the trim was all completed.  Day two was a nice thick coat of spray paint for the main color plus any touch up of fine detail.  By the end of day two, the exterior job was complete!!!  Only two days and we had an beautifully painted house!

Here is how the trim was sprayed first:

Pat donned his "stilts" which really come in handy for reach higher places and not having to use a ladder all the time.  It just seemed second nature to him as he walked around as adept as a circus performer.  He has the personality of a clown too and we really enjoyed his company.

Next came the interior.  Mercy!  What a mess.  We did our best to just stay away until the project was done.  Thankfully though, the team always put the house back in some kind of living condition for the night.  In three days they completed the entire interior of our home.....kitchen, living room, one bedroom, and two bathrooms.  That would have taken us weeks to do on our own! 

On Thursday, the entire painting project was DONE and all cleaned up.  Paul stopped by periodically to check on progress.  I offered him his check several times but he told us to wait till Monday so we had a chance to check all the details and make sure we were satisfied with the quality of the job.  If we found any detailing missed, he would have someone back immediately to fix it up........but we haven't found a single item or complaint.  They did a wonderful job!!

SUNSTATE PEST CONTROL

There are any number of pest control companies servicing Palm Creek but I recommend one in particular that we really like.  Wade Paupst does an excellent job with Sunstate Pest Control.  While I am fascinated with insects and widlife in general, I do NOT want to share my home with them. 

Wade comes on a regular schedule so we know when to expect him.  The weather (on those exremely rare rainy days) may interfere with that schedule occasionally, but we have always been able to count on regular service.  He does a very thorough job of spraying around the house and shrubs and is sure to spray down the outside air vents under the house. 

While doing all our summer housewatch tours, I have come across homes with scorpions and a lot of homes with spiders that just cover the exterior.  I have recommended Wade's services and can see a remarkable difference the next time I go to that home.  Wade also donned a bee suit and came to the rescue when a swarm of bees took roost on one of the homes I was watching. 

Wade will come as frequently as you request.  I find that a monthly service is sufficient.  If you pay for a year in advance, you get two free months included!  Thank you, Wade.  If you give him a call, be sure to tell him that you read about him "on THE BLOG!"
