Wonder Woman Poker Tournament

Another end to another season.  The Tuesday night ladies poker team held their end of season tournament this week.

Cheryl Mortenson (right) won first place.  With Cara Ross (center) in second place.  Elaine Ferguson (left) won third.  Congrats to all.

Even had a royal flush during the evening.

So many clubs and weekly events are coming to a close at the end of the season.  Our SWOOP games will continue all summer long.  Join us on Mondays and Fridays at 12:30 in the Adobe Room.

I'm going to hold another iPad session on Saturday, April 12, 9:30 in the Sonora South room.  Lots of new Tips and Tricks to reveal.

It's always FUN to learn new "stuff".

OMG!!!  The Toby Keith Tribute performance was incredible!  This singer should win an award for being an impressionist.  If the stories he tells are true, he has certainly lead an exciting life.  Look him up via Google.  Search for Hollywood Yates!

Spring Concert 2025

I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed the Chorus Concert this week!  It was so much FUN!!  Congratulations to all who participated in such a successful event.  Their mission was to entertain via their music and that's just what they did.

The theme was "Top of the World".  Check these cute and unique table decorations.

Goodies were provided at every table.  It takes team effort for all these details.

They certainly had a talented piano player to accompany them!  ...and sometimes there were two players at the keyboard!
Cindy McCaskill, Accompanist

A perfect touch to the music was the accompaniment by the percussionist in the background.  Thank you to Bart Vinik.

Karla Shinnick, Chorus Director

I tried to zoom in on some neighbors and friends.

Great entertainment and surprises!
Thanks Elvis!

and congrats to the cutest little Purple People Eater I ever saw! 😉

I'd love to see a repeat of our rap artists!  They were awesome!

Great lyrics added fun comedy and a testament to old age.

Of course, we had a lovely tribute to our Canadian friends.

I extend a HUGE thank you to one and all for some great entertainment!

*A special note to ALL chorus members (including the sound & lights team)....."Your parents would be so proud of you!!"

Art & Photo Show Plus

I'm soon going to get fired by my loyal blog readers as I "forget" to take enough photos of the events I attend.  I'm certainly not going to win any awards for my photography!  Compare my crazy "snap & shoot" pictures to the awesome photography we saw at the show this week.

By the time I got around to the ART side of the room, my camera went back in my pocket instead of taking more photos.  I get sidetracked by talking with the other audience members.

I did fall in love with this little character as he's the only pic I took.

Earlier this week, the club leaders met with Gabby and some of the staff including the Regional VP, Gery Manthos.  Gabby introduced her new assistant, Christina,

The lasagna dinner with the Police Department was really nice!  They brought several of their drones and had them flying as demonstration.  We also met canine Benny as he demonstrated an attack.  Again I apologize as my camera was sound asleep in my pocket.

Our all girls softball tournament was well attended.

Twas a very busy week!

Quilt & Woodshop Results

OMG!!  I can't get over the talent that resides in this park!  Touring the shows this weekend was awesome.

It is fascinating to see how hard the quilters work to put on their show.  It's not only all the racks to display the big quilts and finished products, but I'm always entertained to see the cute small displays in each aisle.

Cute sign!

So many colorful quilts.  I managed to snap a few photos when no one was standing in the way.  The show is VERY well attended.

Quilts of honor.

So many community projects.

Cute little onesies donated to the hospital ... made by the "Grandmas" from Palm Creek. 💖

These two quilts were outstanding!!

The ballroom was filled with activity for the Woodshop Show.

The "orange shirts" team of Woodworkers was busy serving hamburgers and brats with all the fixings including chips and a soda for only $8.

Attendance showed it successful.

Then there was a live auction.  Fun to watch!

CONGRATULATIONS to all the club members for a job well done!

Tonight was my favorite concert of all to see the Garth Brooks Tribute...again!  I go every year and hope to never miss it if they return for another season.  The performers feel like good friends.

We recognize Kathy as she plays a dandy fiddle.

This afternoon I spotted this beautiful white egret hunting at the main lake.

Last but not least is a photo of Casper and Scooter as they visit each other in the afternoon.  I now tell folks that I have two and a half cats as Casper comes to visit her boyfriend quite regularly.
