Breakfast at Three Palms Cafe

Today was the first Saturday breakfast at our "Three Palms Cafe".  Fantastic!  Congratulations to Chef, Bridgette, and Connie.

Buy your ticket at the window ($12) plus drinks.  Advance to the table and put your name on a plastic cup.  Fill it with whatever ingredients you want in your omelet.  Leave the cup with Chef while he starts cooking.  Go to the fruit bar where you can scoop up your potatoes and load up a fresh fruit dish.  They will bring your meal to your table when it is ready.

Make it a Saturday tradition.  Next Saturday will be "eggs to order" served with breakfast potatoes and your choice of sausage or bacon.  They will also have pancakes with maple syrup.

Here is the full menu for next week:

SPECIAL NEWS!!
Chef announced this week that due to popular requests, he will start serving salad bar on Thursdays!  I'm so surprised that they can set up that big salad bar for just one day.  That's a lot of work and a big investment so I certainly hope everyone participates.

I'll see you all at taco Tuesday!  😋

Shuffleboard

Spring time brings changes to Palm Creek.  The flowering petunias are gone and the new vinca plants are planted as they can usually endure the summer sun.  It must be a pain to get down and plant them all but our landscape crew has done a great job.  All the flower beds are now complete.

The large flocks of ducks have left leaving mostly nestling pairs as they raise their young ducklings.

The shuffleboard courts are being completely redone this summer.  It seems like one man is tackling the job single handedly.  All courts should be nice and level at completion.

Lots of work to do.

Our weather has been awesome through April and May.  The golfers must be having a great time with free golf now.

The Three Palms Cafe is now open and serving delicious lunch specials 5 days a week.  I'm guessing there will be heavy traffic for breakfast on Saturday mornings!  This week will be the omelet bar served with roasted potatoes.  Yum.

We have all laughed and commented on how traffic has dwindled on Florence Blvd.  Hobby Lobby is now open!  Jersey Mike's is scheduled to open this month.  Work continues on Highway 10 with the bridge overpass.

Computer Club is closed for the summer but our President, Dan Mayer, has not abandoned us and our need for information.  He is still posting any new items, newsletters, menu, etc. on the club website.

Boat Regatta 2025

A perfect weather day for the annual Boat Regatta at the main pool.  There were seven entries this year. 😀  So much fun!  Congratulations to all the participants for a job well done.  The decorations and costumes were awesome!

DJ Dusty and his crew.

These gals even had us all responding to their cheer and song!

Costumes were awesome!

The event certainly draws a large crowd.  I scanned the area so you could see most of the audience.  Water cannons were fun too.

*****
A word of caution to everyone as you enter and leave the main pool.  Dolly Duck has nested in one of the flower beds near the gate.  Please try not to disturb her.  She buries herself in the flowers as best she can.

Readers complain if I don't include cat photos on each post....so here ya go.

Scooter can still manage to crawl under the bathroom door but it's getting harder for him.

It was an exciting night here when a moth got into the house.  Scooter is a hunter!

There are lots of paw prints on the window but Scooter was successful.  It was a fun hunt.

Speaking of cats...son Anton sent us a copy of a recent painting he did last week.  I love his cartoon work!

Upcoming iPhone Class

Three cheers to a very successful season of fun, food, and entertainment at our Bistro.  Thank you and congratulations to the whole staff....especially to Chef!

Tonight is the last night for Dusty's karaoke.  Dusty and his true side-kick Sandy have done a great job of entertainment this season!

The Bistro will stop serving on Saturday, April 26.  I believe that our 3 Palms Cafe will open around May 13.  That gives the crew time to clean up the Bistro kitchen and get the BIG kitchen ready to serve.

Have you seen their beginning menu??  YES!!  It looks great!

I'm betting there will be large crowds for Saturday breakfasts!

This Saturday, April 12, we'll have another iPhone Tips & Tricks session for those who want to review or learn the new tricks from the latest upgrade.  So many features are evolving as new versions are released.  Hope to see you there.  Sonora South at 9:30.
No need to sign up.  $5 donation accepted at classtime.

I enjoyed a nice ride around the park this week on my little Harley bike.  Remember to take the time and enjoy the beauty of our park.

There are some very unusual cactus plants.

Scooter and Kat still manage to tolerate each other.
Life is good!!😺😸

Wonder Woman Poker Tournament

Another end to another season.  The Tuesday night ladies poker team held their end of season tournament this week.

Cheryl Mortenson (right) won first place.  With Cara Ross (center) in second place.  Elaine Ferguson (left) won third.  Congrats to all.

Even had a royal flush during the evening.

So many clubs and weekly events are coming to a close at the end of the season.  Our SWOOP games will continue all summer long.  Join us on Mondays and Fridays at 12:30 in the Adobe Room.

I'm going to hold another iPad session on Saturday, April 12, 9:30 in the Sonora South room.  Lots of new Tips and Tricks to reveal.

It's always FUN to learn new "stuff".

OMG!!!  The Toby Keith Tribute performance was incredible!  This singer should win an award for being an impressionist.  If the stories he tells are true, he has certainly lead an exciting life.  Look him up via Google.  Search for Hollywood Yates!
