I had some time to stroll through the Pottery Shop this morning. Fun tour! Julie Wolf is busy creating more of her "asparagus people". They're favorites for her grand kids.
There was a live presentation in progress. Tea is a master at pottery and occasionally gives talks and demos about his work. He creates some beautiful work while he visits and then leaves it here for our pottery show.
Our entertainment show Sunday night earns another A+. Eric Buss is a Magician and entertainer who did a great job of keeping us laughing and in wonder at how he performs his magic tricks. He called a number of "volunteers" from the audience to help with the stunts.
Sue Van Namee was the first "guest".
Eric must be totally exhausted after a show as he certainly was energetic!

Saturday February 22, will be our annual car show in Palm Park. If you love classic cars and a stroll down memory lane, mark your calendar. Burgers and hot dogs will be on sale plus a beverage truck so come on down.
Sunday is Canada Day where all our Canadian visitors will gather in the ballroom for festivities.
Our staff will be busy cleaning up after the Canada party and getting ready for the Ventriloquist show on Sunday night.
I googled Kevin Johnson for a preview of what we will see. The show should be another HIT! Kevin has a regular feature at LegoLand and has appeared on the David Letterman Show and America's Got Talent. Pierce Brosnan and David Hasselhoff thought he was great as he performs with his two friends, Clyde and Matilda. Want a sneak peek? See him on YouTube.
There will be a nice shiney red fire truck in the park today as the Department is coming to pick up their check from the annual Fireman's Spaghetti dinner. Palm Creek will be proud to present them with a check for $4,922. Palm Creek is their only source of income to provide them with uniforms for their honor guard.
We started Valentine's Day with a flare. Fresh mimosas over the Mahjong table. Yes!
Later in the day, I joined the whole Mahjong club for a Valentine's Day treat. Soooo much good food and fun! We enjoyed 17 tables of players!
Elsewhere around the park, the chorus members were singing their Valentine Songs to residents.
They started near Activities.
And then to private homes around the park.
Dear friend, Nancy Polley, was among the recipients of a hearty song.

Mouse loves having the windows open on these lovely sunny days. I'm hoping an open window will be enough of the outdoors for him.
Thought I'd post this info regarding the upcoming O'Odham Tash rodeo happening this weekend. A big parade with go down Florence Blvd on Saturday, Feb 15 at 10:00 a.m. Plan ahead and be prepared for traffic problems that morning.
Another wonderful night of musical entertainment!! Such talented performers! I'm sure all country music lovers enjoyed the show. "That's Country Show"
The fiddle gal we enjoyed at the Tom Jones Tribute was present again for a great toe tapping time.
The young man on the steel guitar was just outstanding! I had an opportunity to talk with him after the show. It's hard to believe he has only been with this band for a few months. Shane Travis is a musician, songwriter, and producer. He has his own band and plays in several clubs in the Phoenix area. See his website at www.shanetravis.com

We have soooooo many talented people staying at Palm Creek!!! While walking through the dozens of displays this morning, I met up with a group of ladies from Robson. They love coming to our events...especially the quilt show. It is definitely a sight to see. It's impossible to take photos of everything especially when the rooms are so crowded with onlookers.
The "Community Projects" is a favorite of mine. The sewers make all these beautiful blankets, pillowcases, and baby clothes to give to the Women's shelters, foster kids, etc. What a wonderful way to share their talent.
I'm also very impressed with the hard work it must take to get everything set up for the show. There are so many finishing touches that add to the decor. All the little end tables and dodads on display help make for a lovely show.
The auction is always a busy place as folks buy their tickets in hopes of winning some of the many prizes on display.
.....And then there is the wonderful Quilts of Valor. How rewarding to be remembered with a labor of love.
Of course, Dolores was there again to provide music for the occasion.
This quilt certainly attracted a lot of attention.
Somewhere there will be a very excited young man receiving this masterpiece.

Darryl's house is full of his master collection.
Beautiful auction pieces.
The wood folks seem to be a well organized group. Auction tickets were sold along with a nice lunch. Yellow t-shirts indicate the proud members.
