Lawn Bowling Website

Congratulations to Judy Paul and the Lawn Bowling Club for starting their new website!!  I've been politely nagging them for sometime now wishing they would post information about their club and activities.  Check it out at this link:   Lawn Bowling Club

Peg Tomaso, Sandy Milner, and Melba Leger were here yesterday for help on how to set up a blog for the Pottery Room.  We'll hopefully see their blog joining the list soon.  Will make an announcement when their site is ready for viewing.

Have you looked at the other club blogs yet?  They're all listed at:  Palm Creek Activities

Welcome Home Party

Members of special events and activities were dressed in gala costume to greet us for the Welcome Home party.  I loved the colorful peace pendants.

It was a great band to entertain us and they had us tappin our toes to the tunes of yesteryear.

It was so interesting to walk around to all the booths and learn more about what their club or organization had to offer.
GUEST SERVICES at the front desk.

Bev Dahlquist and Jane Smith are certainly representative of the beautiful work done in the pottery room.

Diane Reese is a truly avid fan of the water volleyball leagues.

Be sure to show up for the rubber ducky race on Friday, January 25!  I've had several people write to me and ask me to buy them a duck for the big race.  Hope one of us wins!  Should be fun to watch.

We had a GREAT turn out for the party and it was certainly PERFECT weather.

Our recycling team had some nice information for their ongoing project.  We all received an informative pamphlet in our mailbox so read it carefully and contribute WISELY to Palm Creek's efforts to be earth friendly.

More " boys and their toys" as the Remote Control cars, boats, and planes were on display.

I still wish the sewing groups would start a blog to show off all the beautiful works of art they create.  They also do some fantastic work for charities and organizations in the community.

After touring all the booths on display and learning about all the activities offered at Palm Creek.....if you find yourself bored while staying here....it's your own fault.  Those of us who return year after year.....be sure to introduce yourself to any newcomers you come across.  Welcome them to our paradise and encourage them to participate.

Welcome back to warm temps

Hallelujah!  The cold freeze is gone and we're back to our wonderful Arizona winter temps.  Spent the last few days hunkered down in the nice warm house as it was too cold to spend time outside.  Brrrrr.  We were starting to suffer from cabin fever after such a cold spell.

It was wonderful to see everyone back outdoors and at play again.  The white uniforms are for the lawn bowling tournament.

It's fun to watch and it takes some practice and skill to get close to the jack.

Our new pickleball courts were all occupied when I went over this morning.  No special tournaments were going on.....just lots of people enjoying America's fastest growing sport.

I love watching the games.

Check out the latest fashions!

Way to go Jerry!  Put those fancy shoes to work.

Diane and TJ were there to watch the events.  What a cute little puppy!

Softball games were in full play.  Awesome to watch!

The new Sports Grill is open in its temporary quarters.
Brian and Bob were cooking up lunch.

And the gang inside were serving up the goodies.

Maurice just came in from scoring a run!

ABOUT GROWING OLDER...
First ~Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

Second ~ The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Third ~ Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me; I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Fourth ~ When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of Algebra.

Fifth ~ You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

Sixth ~ I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top.

Seventh ~ One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it's such a nice change from being young.

Eighth ~ One must wait until evening to see how splendid the day has been.

Ninth ~ Being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.
