Acrylic Pour and More

Acrylic Pour Class by Sue Belding - Wed May 16, 2018
Sue took a group of faithful followers on the art of doing an Acrylic Pour. Like witches brewing up a magic potion, Sue walked them thru the entire process, creating a a beautiful potion which they poured over canvas and some did large stones. Thank you Sue for introducing this to many of us. (Photos copied from Nextdoor.)

Our morning weather has been absolutely ideal.  Nice cool upper 60s and lots of sunshine and fresh air.  It heats up fast after about 10:00 but these early mornings are precious.

We see Kevin and Kathy Root out for their morning exercise.

The saguaros are in full bloom this time of year.

New houses spring up like weeds.  We're expecting over 20 new installations this summer.

Wonderful forecast.  I don't complain until we hit triple digits.

The doves, of course, don't care what the day brings as they're very busy growing more doves.

Our crews continue work on the golf course.

It's just another day for Mouse.  He's resting up from a recent race through the house with his buddy, Kat.

Black Out Volleyball??

As though playing regular water volleyball isn't enough fun, our residents came up with something new to add a little variety to their play.  Black garbage bags covered the net so each side had no idea where the ball was until it was coming right at you!!

They certainly seemed to be having fun.  What a great way to spend a sunny afternoon!

Nice Day

Most of you have seen yucca plants shoot up these huge towering blossoms but the two on Coyote are really quite exceptional right now.  They're HUGE!!

Another one is just starting.  They grow extremely fast.

Speaking of things that are really fast.......we laughed with Ricki Persing this morning as her two puppies wrapped themselves around her legs.  Being a pet owner has its challenges.  LOL

On a more peaceful note, we enjoy watching the wildlife as we tour the resort each morning.

Other than it being quite toasty warm in the afternoons, I have no other news for you.
Enjoy your day!!

Cards and Flowers

We had another session of "open games" yesterday with 14 people in attendance.  We played the new "Swoop" game again and had a LOT of laughs.

Look at the gorgeous flowers in bloom again today.  Wow!
It wasn't hard to convince Don to stop for a quick photo.

Other than HOT afternoons, our weather has been very nice.  Love the cool mornings so we can enjoy that first cup of coffee out on the patio.

Triple Temps

Okay...............the triple temps are upon us for at least the next full week.  It is still predicted to cool down to the mid 70s at night though so that makes our mornings really nice.  We will arise EARLY and enjoy waking with the birds for the rest of summer.

Speaking of the birds.............our many many doves are doing their best to keep their breed in abundance.  We spy nests and baby birds daily.

We are supposed to water these potted cactus each month when we visit a house on our rounds.  We skipped the water this morning though as mama dove would not budge from her nest.  We have a soft heart so didn't disturb her.

Summer work has begun on the golf course.  We see them plugging the greens on the front nine today.

Amazing Dental has really devoted advertising efforts to our park.  They not only sponsored the Cinco event but also our Monday coffee.  Thank you, Andrea.

Another nice turn out!

I always seem to post photos when the cats are misbehaving so I took a quick photo of Mouse as he was finishing his lunch.  I bet he still wonders what he's doing wrong because that's usually when I get the camera out.

Happy Cinco Day

We had a FUN Cinco celebration yesterday thanks in part to Andrea from Amazing Dental.  She even brought up most of her staff to enjoy the day.

Over 175 tickets were sold so we had a huge crowd for this time of year.

Bob and Robin always ready to assist.

This hard-working lady had the taco making job outdoors.
Lunch was served by a new restaurant in Coolidge called Jalapeno. It was a good Mexican meal.

The Mariachi band was OUTSTANDING! Great music to fit the occasion.  We were all very impressed with the trumpet man who was also a Fantastic singer!  He certainly drew a lot of applause.

We had a new experience with our housewatch program on Friday.  We received a call from the office saying someone walking past 1872 reported a bird trying to get out of a window.  What???  We were just there for an inspection the day previous and didn't see a bird inside.

Sure enough.  When we approached we could see the poor little woodpecker trapped inside.

He obviously was smart enough to peck a whole through the styrofoam to get to the window.

Don gently pulled away the screen.

The little guy rested for a moment and then made one FAST beeline for the open door.
Crisis was solved.  We got permission from Pete and Linda Reynolds to post the story.

The bird must have followed us in the day previous when we were there for inspection.
He remains a mystery but gave us some excitement to talk about.

Occasionally, we must stop for traffic in the summer time.

It's always quite sad to see the flowers disappear.  The summer sun just bakes them though so they have to go.

Every time I think I've seen every kind of cactus there is............I come across a new one.  Isn't this a weird creature!

My printer says there is a paper jam.  I wonder how that happened??
