Big News

First some unfinished business from yesterday's post about the new procedure for the front desk.  These are the forms we can conveniently pick up without having to wait in line.

2. Housekeeping requests

After filling out the forms, just conveniently drop them in the box at the front concierge desk.

More BIG news.  This is a "first" for Palm Creek.  Site 693 has new owners.

For good reason, they love the view from this site but the single wide park model had limitations for expansion.

Sooooo......Jim and Carolyn sold the park model and moved it out so they could install a new home.

In less than three hours, the park model was picked up, put the wheels back on, and away she goes.

Along went the stairs, the air conditioning, and underneath piping.  

After a little digging and cement work, the site will be ready for its brand new house.  Sounds easier and faster than a big add-on room project plus the bonus of the warranties and special lease rate of a new model.

On the way home, I met Bob Fahrenbruch.  OMG!  Look at the beautiful piece of artwork he created!  I've never seen one quite so intricate.  It has taken Bob many many hours to build.

Congratulations, Bob!  We hope to see this on display at the wood shop show come spring.

Remember those 22 rental houses that are still arriving at a steady rate?  Our hard-working housekeeping staff is on the move from house to house getting them spruced up and ready for occupancy come this season.

It takes a lot of teamwork to make all of this happen so fast.

  Lots of planning involved.  

Meanwhile, over in Phase 3, the asphalt is being laid on the new streets.

We watched this earth mover for quite a while this morning.  He drives down the front side of the berm picking up dirt, then drives to the back side and dumps it.  

At the same time, this other vehicle follows behind and levels the ground for the next pass.

Yes, those are puddles you see in the above picture since we had a strong thunderstorm last night that brought some beautiful heavy rain to settle the dust and clean things off a little.  It was a welcome site with beautiful monsoon clouds and plenty of thunder

This is such an EXCITING place to live.  

Front Office Update

I learned some interesting and important news so am making a special post for you.

I stopped at the front desk to get my new season name badge as we need our NEW name badges before we can get our annual car stickers.  Once you have your new updated name badge, you can stop by the front gate any time on your way home to get your annual car sticker.

This is Barbie Rasmussen (left) and Veronica (right).  Sad to hear that Veronica is leaving us at the end of October so she can move back to Washington.  

New area at the front entrance contains all kinds of important forms that you may need.  Different kinds of work orders and information sheets.  Deposit them in the box on the side of the desk.  Should save a lot of time from standing in line.

Street Prep

Those big earth movers did a great job at taking away all those mountains of dirt behind the new houses.

The ball field is doing well.

Swimming pool is still waiting for the big pour.

The golf course is being scalped and prepped for reseeding.

So much tender care that we don't stop to think about.  Edging all along the concrete.

The big street sweeper is constantly on the move in the construction area.

There is a whole new block of houses over on Coyote Moon in the 1357 neighborhood.

Just about every piece of equipment imaginable is out in phase 3 today prepping for the streets to get their asphalt.

The smell of hot tar is in the air as the edge seal is poured.

Bount's "assembly crew" is hard at work on the new houses.

Every machine including the old fashion shovels are hard at work.  I'm going back out there this afternoon and find a safe place to just sit and watch.  There is sooooo much activity out there.

Of course Mr. Dawson and Fernando are ever present with watchful eyes on every aspect.

I believe this is the area for future restrooms.

Looks like all the concrete work is done at the south pavilion which will be referred to as 

 Palm Shadows.

Working as a pediatric nurse, I had the difficult assignment of giving immunization shots to children. One day, I entered the examining room to give four-year-old Lizzie her injection.

“No, no, no!” she screamed.

“Lizzie,” scolded her mother, "that's not polite behavior.”

With that, the girl yelled even louder, “No, thank you! No, thank you!"

And my personal favorite…

God’s Problem Now!

His wife's graveside service was just barely finished, when there was a massive clap of thunder, followed by a tremendous bolt of lightning, accompanied by even more thunder rumbling in the distance. The little, old man looked at the pastor and calmly said, "Well, she’s there."
