Monsoon Season Continues

Arizona's monsoon season is absolutely fascinating.  These dust storms can appear in a matter of minutes, completely unpredictable.  This one chased us out of the swimming pool Saturday night.  We could see it approaching on the horizon so packed up and headed for home.

Yup.  Monsoon and high temps continue.  Copied this from last night's TV forecast.

Sooooo much digging still going on. This is a HUGE project for the summer.

Crews are busy everywhere.  There are different crews and contractors each working on their own projects.  There are excavators for the underground pipes for homes, Blount's crew on installing houses, cement trucks galore doing work around houses and driveways, pavers and blocks being built around individual sites and along streets, etc etc

The water trucks do a wonderful job at keeping down the dust.  

Someday a photo like this will be a piece of our history for when Phase 3 was started and the first houses arrived.

Folks will be amazed at all the new houses within the park.  Desert Wind has a whole new street of houses.

Another golf course home is being dug.  There aren't many empty lots left!!

Empire Fence is here putting in all the posts on the new pickleball courts.

Say hello to Paul Hyslop from Empire Fence.  We recognize him from the last time courts were installed here.

We can't complain about the heat too much.  At least Arizona isn't on fire like the northwest!!  Myron Persing sent these photos this morning.  WOW!

A "Seenager"

I am a Seenager. (Senior teenager)

I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years later.

I don’t have to go to school or work. 

I get an allowance (pensions).

I have my own pad.

I don’t have a curfew.

I have a driver’s licence and my own car.

I have ID that gets me into bars and the Beer Store.

The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant.

And I don’t have acne.

Life is great.

Hot Days at Work

We're happy to see cooler temperatures for the next few days.  Yes.....this definitely looks like cool temperatures compared to what we've been through for the last two weeks.  Whew!  The nice part is that it will cool down below 90 each night.  That's a welcome relief.

Don and I cruised around the construction site this morning and can see the crews working hard and fast but it still looks like a bunch of machines and a lot of dirt.  It's hard to tell exactly what's going on.  

We do, however, see surveyors at work near the roads so we might soon see streets with curbs.

Thought I'd mention the busy local contractors too.  Jody and crew from Mobile Upgrades has been building sheds and room additions all summer.  HOT HOT work.

South pavilion is coming along.

Tractor Supply has a big sign in front announcing it will open next week.

This has been a rather short and sweet report.  Let the pictures prove that a LOT of work is being done under the HOT sun.

Normal? Day

Life is getting back to 'normal' once again after a very hectic week.  We stopped to say good morning to Fernando and check on his progress with putting the park back in order after the storm.  His crews are hard at work re-staking trees, trimming, and cleaning up the aftermath.  We thank them for all their hard work.  .....AND....everyone still wears a smile and sends a friendly wave.

 We have a fantastic woodworking shop here and the people go out of their way to keep it neat, organized, and clean.

Monday night was Bingo!  Wade Burrow took a turn as caller.  Thanks, Wade!  I finally got a chance to play the game and I won a $5 prize!  My first win at bingo in over 3 years!

It's hot during the days and its really tough when it won't cool down at night.  

Lots of pavers have been delivered to the Phase 3 area.

Tonka trucks were busy again today but to us casual observers it just looks like they're moving piles of dirt around.  We can't get close enough to see all the trenching and acres of piping that go in the ground.

It's hard work but I'll bet its got to be kinda fun to drive one of these monsters too.  It would certainly make a young lad proud to see his Dad out there with the BIG toys.
