Monday

Happy Monday to you all.  Of course, which day of the week it happens to be isn't really important after we retire.
Question: How many days in a week?
Answer: 6 Saturdays, 1 Sunday

Say hello to the white wing doves as they pose on the statue.  Do you know the difference between the white wings and the regular mourning doves?

The white wing is larger, has a distinctive black mark on or around the neck, and the descriptive white wing feathers which are very noticeable in flight.  They make a much different sound than the mourning doves as well.  The white wings are seen only in southern and southwest states.

We had fun watching this roadrunner this morning as he sauntered along the line of houses on Oasis.  He would hop from one patio, run across the gravel, up onto the next patio.  I don't know if its because the gravel stones are sharp on his little feet or if he was hoping for a food hand out from a resident.  I took about 15 photos and only these two are worth posting.

LOTS of activity over in the construction area this morning.  They must be under a deadline to get the roads ready for paving as they even had people here on Saturday.  There were many vehicles here this morning.

Still working on final electrical lines.

Lots of digging all over. Here is our crew working on electrical lines for the Palm Park area.

Here's the channel to run the electric lines.

You seldom see the front of these buildings without any vehicles parked in front.  Looks very nice!

Tree trimmers are at work every day for several weeks.

Tennis courts are seeing lots of action too.  Here are the cables for the post tension work.  They may be ready to start laying the cabeling today.

GPS units are in place and being used to assure the proper slope and depth.

Then there are other details we never think about.  Now that we're adding 5-6 inches to the courts, all these electrical boxes will have to be raised before they get filled in with concrete.  Electricians should be arriving today or tomorrow to raise all the boxes on the light posts.

Our weather early this morning was just awesome.  It was 68 degrees at 5:30 for our morning coffee on the patio.  Loved it!!  It is 11:33 now and the temp is already 101 as I sit here typing.  The weatherman is predicting over 110 for a couple days starting Thursday.  Anything over 110 is HOT.  We could certainly use some rain.  I can't remember the last drops of rain we've had.  Maybe Alberta could ship us some as they seem to have plenty to share.

We appreciate the cool mornings when we are out on our rounds rinsing and refilling buckets:

Squishing scorpions we find along our route:
or repairing sprinkler lines....Don had two to work on today.

That's enough post for now.  Don just headed up to the pool room to shoot pool with "the boys" so I'll meander up to the SanTan room to play cards with "the girls".  It's a rough life we lead.
